Leominster drivers can look forward to a variety of engine options with the new Ford Explorer, including a single hybrid engine option. Otherwise, there are three impressively power gas engines for drivers to consider. The base engine that comes equipped with the Explorer is a 2.3-liter turbocharged inline-4, which makes 300 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque. The sole hybrid engine option slots in just above that base powertrain (in horsepower terms). The 3.3-liter V6 hybrid engine provides Shrewsbury drivers with 318 horsepower and 322 pound-feet of torque. If you're looking to opt for a gas engine, then there's an available 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged V6 (comes with King Ranch and Platinum trims). The 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged V6 offers up 365 horsepower and 380 pound-feet of torque. The Ford Explorer makes an even more powerful engine available with its performance-oriented trims (ST and Enthusiast ST), which produces 400 horsepower and 415 pound-feet of torque. All engines work with a 10-speed automatic transmission. Rear-wheel drive is standard with most trims while all-wheel drive is an available upgrade.

The new Ford Explorer covers modern connectedness needs by offering drivers an array of tech features. The base Explorer trim comes outfitted with an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment display, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, Bluetooth connectivity, various USB ports, and a 6-speaker audio system. This is just the standard set of tech features, mind you. If you're a Rutland driver looking for more in the way of tech, then you can look to upper trims and available tech packages. The Limited trim, for instance, offers West Boylston drivers a 12-speaker Bang & Olufsen audio system along with wireless charging. The Premium Technology package allows drivers to improve even more, offering up a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment display and a 14-speaker B&O surround sound system.

The interior of the Ford Explorer offers drivers a mix of comfort and convenience configurations to enjoy. The base Ford Explorer trim comes with cloth-trimmed seats, tri-zone automatic climate control, a power adjustable front seat, and 10 cupholders. The XLT trim builds upon the base set of interior features by adding in heated front seats, a power passenger seat, a leather-trimmed steering wheel, and second-row captain's chairs. Moving to the Limited adds in near-luxury offerings like ventilated/heated front seats, a self-dimming rearview mirror, and rain-sensing windshield wipers. The ST adds in leather seating trim while the Platinum trim includes a twin-panel moonroof and leather seats. The Premium Technology package also includes a single comfort features that's worth noting, massaging front seats.
